Sandblaster or Surface Prep Technician

Crystal Soda Blast is a rapidly growing local mobile abrasive blasting business. We use various media (sand, baking
soda, walnut shell, steel shot, dry ice, etc.) to prepare and restore surfaces. We've been in business since 2001, and
are currently seeking an experienced and highly ethical and courteous technician to join our team.
Some Nights, Weekends and Holidays are required. 

Duties include operating multiple types of blasting equipment, grinders, scarifiers, and generators, carrying various
medias, building containment units, and thorough clean up. Applicants must be able to be on feet all day and lift
up to 100 lbs consistently. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, be a self-starter with a high level of
professional integrity, and have a good work ethic and a strong competitive drive. Strong construction background
is needed.

Job Requirements: 
  • Valid WA State driver's license and/or reliable transportation 
  • 18 years of age or older 
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen 
  • Agree to a background check 
  • Pass medical exam for Respirator use
  • Ability to work in a full face mask with hoses and in low light conditions 
  • Out of town travel occasionally required- we pay for hotel and per diem
  • Have CPR/1st Aid Certification (within 90 days of hire) 
  • Must be a US Citizen with all required documentation 
  • Able to work Nights, Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays (as needed) with notice 
Ideal candidates will: 
  • Have OSHA 10 Certification or above
  • Prior Sandblasting or Surface preparation experience (shot blasting, diamond grinding, etc)
  • Forklift certifications or trainings
  • Able to trouble shoot equipment failures
  • Able to drive a truck towing a trailer 
  • Have prior experience conducting Daily Safety Meetings and/or writing Site Specific JHA's
  • Lead abatement training/certification
  • Knowledge of Surface Preparation Standards (SSPC/NACE)
